Garuda Hacks is Southeast Asia’s largest hackathon, bringing together over 6,000 participants since its founding in 2020. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we’re on a mission to empower young Indonesians with the skills and mindset to tackle the nation’s most urgent challenges through technology and innovation.
We believe that talent is everywhere — but opportunity is not. Many aspiring technologists lack access to real-world platforms to showcase their abilities. That’s why Garuda Hacks exists: to provide a launchpad for students to build impactful solutions, sharpen entrepreneurial skills, and connect with mentors, sponsors, and peers.

Garuda Hacks 6.0 challenges participants to confront a fundamental question:
How can we forge a more tangible Indonesian identity—one that goes beyond ideals and manifests in consistent, collective action?
Indonesia is rich in potential: it is home to the world’s third-largest rainforest, a vibrant mosaic of over 300 cultures, and a fast-growing digital economy. Yet, this potential is often held back by real-world gaps—like the conflict between sustainability and economic development, or cultural heritage and modernisation.
This year’s hackathon is a call to action: to create solutions that don’t just tell a story but become the story—turning Indonesia’s aspirations into reality through innovation in:
